This section covers the system functions for connecting to a store and maintaining the local database.
The “Connection” window handles authorization and connection settings. The “Connection Parameters” tab contains: Online store URL, Login, Password, and if necessary — proxy server (address, port, login, password). The “Store passwords in the system registry” checkbox saves your login credentials.
The “Connection Settings” tab contains: exchange limits (rows for receiving and sending, file and buffer size, auto-retry on lock, server response timeout) and “Auto-configure by connection type” (buttons for 1 / 10 / 100 Mbps) — a quick way to set reasonable values based on channel speed.
The “Stores” window handles switching between
stores, adding and removing them, and selecting the disk for the
local database. The disk should be fast (preferably an SSD) and
generally not the system drive C: — otherwise some features
(the HTML editor, web modules) will require running the program as
administrator.
The program works with a local copy of data; over time, unnecessary data accumulates in it. “Reload” recreates the local database and improves performance. Any unsaved (not yet uploaded to the server) data will be lost in the process, so save your changes first. The manager automatically prompts you to reload when the database becomes outdated.
